Rev. Br. Antoninus John White, OP
Rev. Br. Antoninus was a student whose life as a Dominican was tragically ended by a
serious spinal problem. He was born March 14, 1870 in San Francisco. At the
age of 15 he became a postulant and two years later made his profession of vows in
the hands of Fr. Francis Vilarrasa, OP at St. Dominic's in Benicia, California. He
made his final profession on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, 1891. He became
a deacon September 7 of the following year, but died before ordination to the priesthood
of a spinal problem at the age of 22. We do not know his dreams for the Order, but
pray that God grant him his heart's desire.
