Joseph Fox was born on May 2, 1882, in County Rosscommon, Ireland.  He became a citizen of the United States on October 28, 1904, in Cleveland, Ohio.  He received the Habit of a cooperator brother in Benicia on June 17, 1933 at the age of fifty-one.   He made his first profession at Ross on June 25, 1934.  Solemn profession was made on June 25, 1940, at Blessed Sacrament Priory, Seattle.

During his years of service he worked faithfully in Benicia, Oakland, Pittsburg, Portland, Vallejo, and Kentfield.  He did a lot of work as sacristan in Benicia.  People in Benicia remember him ringing the bells during the Angelus.  He died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stockton, on January 8, 1969, and is buried in St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Benicia.
