Br. Richard Jastrzebski is a student brother of the Eastern Province of St.
Joseph and made his profession of simple vows on the Feast of the Assumption in August of
1999. He grew up in Hopatcong, New Jersey and graduated with a B.A. in Religious
studies from Rutgers University where he met the Dominicans, who operate the campus
ministry there. While working and doing additional coursework at Boston College and
then Rutgers in theology and philosophy, he was attracted to the Order of Preachers by
reading about St. Catherine of Siena and St. Dominic. Br. Rick is in his first year
of studies, and is currently working toward an M.A. in Philosophy at the Dominican School
of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, California. He is particularly interested in
music, especially playing the organ and singing. |
