Ian is from Valparaiso, Florida. A graduate of the University of Dayton with a B.S. degree
in Chemistry, he served in the U.S. Army for four years as a Patriot Missile Officer
before entering the Southern U.S. Province of the Order of Preachers in 1993. In 1997, he
professed solemn vows. For the last four years he has studied philosophy and theology at
Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis before joining us in the Western Province for
his final year of theology. The Church and the Order intend to ordain him a deacon in
April 1999, followed by priesthood ordination in 2000. His first ministry years will be at
Dominican parish or campus ministry in the South. Br. Ian is an oil painter and wishes to
find ways in which he can use his art to preach the Gospel.September 18, 1998 |
