A Tribute to Dominicans that have served in
Benicia, California
BENICIA, CA. May 2006
The City of Benicia, CA installed a new decorative street clock this summer in the sidewalk
fronting 636 First Street. This clock was donated by the Benicia Historical Society in honor
of the Dominican friars and sisters and for their 150 year history of serving the people of God in
Benicia and the greater Bay Area. The Dominican friars still staff
St. Dominic Parish and continue to offer
quality education in the parish school, grades K-8. You can read more of their history by
