On a nice Fall day in early October of 2004, eight friends jumped in a few
cars and headed to an air field in Creswell, Oregon. After signing our legal waivers,
acknowledging the risks, and getting through our training it was time to throw the jump suit on
and take to the air. Ten thousand feet later, I stepped out of the plane onto the wheel,
launched out doing a flip through the air, followed by a barrel roll, and into our stability form
to free fall for 40 seconds before deploying the main parachute. The little parachute you
see soon after we leave the plane is designed to slow us down to 120 miles an hour, so that we
don't break our ribs when the main chute opens. It was an experience of a lifetime and one I will
never forget. I had never jumped before, but it was me who organized the trip, and I had a
blast. I was wearing my Roman collar if you look closely. The college students
with us selected the music from Metallica and U2. We used digital photos and the full length
video footage for promotional purposes.
