Our Dominican School
The Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA offers Masters and other degree and certificate programs rooted in the tradition of the Dominican order and our brother, St. Thomas Aquinas. Faithful to the teaching of Holy Mother, the Church, our school prepares not only young men studying for the priesthood, but also other men and women who will be the leaders of local communities of faith. Creation and Supernatural Design
Fr. Robert Spitzer will give a presentation on "The Evidence of Creation and Supernatural Design in Contemporary Big Bang Cosmology and Space-Time Geometry Proofs". Fr. Spitzer's presentation will be followed by responses from two DSPT Professors: Fr. Michael Dodds, OP, and F. Anselm Ramelow, OP. Fr. Robert Spitzer, SJ, is the President of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith , the Spitzer Center for Catholic Organizations , and the Ethics and Performance Institute. He has three master's degrees (Divinity, Theology, Scripture) and a PhD in Philosophy of Science. His most recent book is New Proofs for the Existence of God: Contributions of Contemporary Physics and Philosophy .
Fr. Michael Dodds, OP, is Professor of Philosophy and Theology at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, a member of The Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences and author of Unlocking Divine Action: Contemporary Science and Thomas Aquinas from Catholic University of America Press. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during the event.
Fr. Anselm Ramelow, OP, is Associate Professor of Philosophy and the Chair of Philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. His research interests include philosophy of religion and he has published on the topic of understanding seeking faith.
